Northern Spain & Portugal in Landy

– August 16, 2020 –

“Tame birds dream of freedom. Wild birds fly.” Emmi read out loud. The quote was painted on an old van that had been converted into a camper and had obviously seen a lot of the world. The three of us looked at each other and nodded with smiles. The car caught our eye in the surfing village of Sagres, where we arrived after two weeks of driving. Like last fall, our journey had taken us to the southern tip of Portugal.

The original plan of this summer road trip was only to explore the north of Spain intensively. Because our goal was to find a beautiful spot in this area – a second home by the sea, which we can always head for from Cologne. Much like Cape Town was the years before Emmi started school and the long-distance travel came to an abrupt end. And to say it in advance: We have found the place! But not in the north of Spain, but in a small fishing village in the Algarve. It’s just a heart thing. You either feel it or you don’t. And so we will probably travel quite far again in the coming years. 🙂

Come along on our journey.
